Who We Are
The Vision Of Liz Ordonez
We work with talented jewelry artisans that bring Liz O.'s designs and ideas come to life as well as carry pieces that are handmade by Liz O. They are all one-of-a-kind.
"Stones, like each and every one of us, even 'identical' twins, are unique and one-of-a-kind."
Liz O. Studio is the vision of fashion designer Liz Ordonez, a Fashion Design graduate from Marymount University. Driven by a passion for creating art and an appreciation for architecture, Liz began designing and sewing clothing -self taught - at the age of 16 and has since honed skills in many creative realms.
Hailing from Managua, Nicaragua, she landed in Houston, TX at the age of 5. During the 3 years in Houston, her after school caretaker also happened to teach art and craft classes on the weekends. This awakened a love of art and creating from the imagination. During middle school, now living in Northern Virginia, Liz O. began to design chocker necklaces (it was the early 90's) and sell them to her friends and students at school, thus sparking an appreciation for jewelry and entrepreneurship.
Ultimately, Liz O. went on to Marymount University in Arlington, VA where she earned a B.A. in Fashion Design. During that time, working for a bead and jewelry shop, she fell in love with the aspect that jewelry fits everybody. With accessories, anyone can enjoy the beauty in the sparkle and turn a basic outfit into something that catches attention.
Liz O.'s passions include many creative endeavors, such as jewelry design, crochet and leather work, abstract painting, using leftover paper scraps for art, making puzzles, and a daily love for the kitchen (her second studio).
She is lucky to have lived in many different locations such as Nicaragua, Texas, Miami, Honduras, London, and Colombia. Liz O. currently resides in the DMV where she runs her studio.
